Pros

A bright, driven group of coworkers gives spark to this workplace, with a community feeling built on shared commitment to sustainability and common backgrounds (well-educated, liberal twenty- and thirty-somethings). Engagement with name-brand companies lends a feeling of significance to the work, and great freedom in the workplace allows the ability to pursue opportunities at will. The work feels like it has a significant impact, while offering much better compensation than at non-profit organizations with similar feel-good work.

Cons

Loose management gives incredible freedom and flexibility- but the distance between management and rank-and-file consultants also means that feedback and mentorship is scant. Teamwork is limited, and the reliance on tried-and-true tools and methods does not encourage innovation or creativity.
