Pros
I worked at Pixia full-time for about 7.5 years. I left only because I had an offer I could not refuse and felt it was a great opportunity for me. That being said, if things go south with this opportunity, I would have no problems returning to Pixia if they had an opening.
The best part about Pixia is the people and the culture. The people at Pixia are very professional, outgoing, helpful and friendly. I enjoyed working with these people very much. In addition, the people at Pixia are very smart. I learned something new every day and never felt like I could not ask questions or offer my assistance and knowledge when needed.
The environment at Pixia provides challenges to those who are interested and willing to step up and accept a challenge. The software developed at Pixia is fairly complex and the environment where the software is deployed presents many problems. Often times it is up to the development and engineering teams to solve problems outside of the box. This provides developers and engineers the freedom to explore new technologies and techniques from the community and of their own.
Cons
Pixia has had some struggles getting a software development process working to maximum effect for a number of reasons that are fairly typical, in my opinion and experience, of smaller companies. As a result, release cycles can sometimes be tight and a little chaotic.
