Pros

You can learn a lot about this industry by working here, get certified (ASQ, 6 Sigma) for free, and they pay 90% of college tuition and books. As of now weekend/over-time work is low so you should have enough time for studying and life in general. Benefits are good but salaries are low. Currently management seems to be looking into it and has taken steps forward to better the salaries but people are cautiously optimistic. For those without a college degree living near the area, you probably wont find another job that will start you over $15 an hour and offer to send you to school.

Cons

Work/life balance was almost non-existent until people threatened management with a union (it actually went that far). Employees must be really, really patient when it comes to opportunities (career & education) and put up with bad a bad company culture in the mean time. This culture is bad for two reasons: 1) Good employees are sometimes taken advantage of and over worked until they end up leaving the company. 2) Employees who get through the day by doing the minimum but befriend the manager end up with "Excellent" reviews at the end of the year. Half of these people end up bragging to others about their year end reviews (and raises) which further encourages the good employees to leave.

Pros

Acceptable 401K matching with immediate vesting as well as an age based deferred compensation program that has a 3 year vesting period. Standard benefits and pay consistent with industry. Acceptable safety practices defined and adhered to throughout organization.

Cons

Moderately high turnover (at least my division). Inconsistent treatment of employees (flex time allowed for some employees but not others in same work category, some employees told to use personal car or phone for work activities while others get in trouble for same type of work activity, allowing some employees the options to apply and move internally while others are not allowed - and are sometimes even forced to moved to a role for which they didn't apply against their desires). Inconsistent reporting of data and legal brushes aside your questions/findings making you seem like you did something wrong when uncovering something fishy.
