Pros
Easy work, anyone can do it and they'll hire anyone who interviews because they're so stuck for staff
Cons
Pay is bad when you consider the work load, you're not just taking bets and putting them into the computer, you're expected to do everything and then you have to push them to give you the title, for example I was senior RBA for 4 years before I got Deputy I only got it because staff keep quitting, another woman was Deputy for 11 years and only got Manager because someone quit, there's no room to grow and upper management have zero respect for retail staff even at deputy/manager positions. Overall the job is very very boring and it's long days, working weekends, being called on your day off to cover staff who've left, so it is an easy job but there's just no work life balance. Awful culture in the business too. Outside of abusive customers the staff are all gossips and bullies, my advice is to beware of anyone working with paddy powers for over 2 years especially West 1. Everyone is related to eachother in the company, hence a lot of hatred and competition between shops/family members. Also noticed that trainees are treated horribly, not given the time of day whatsoever and when they leave after their shift staff speak so poorly of them even calling other shops to complain and gossip, really makes for a horrible environment.
