Pros

Working at Pandora city stores was one of the most toxic and demoralising experiences I have had in retail. The culture is driven by poor management, blatant favoritism, and a refusal to deal with bullying. Expect to constantly work overtime for free and get no recognition. Put on alone late at night and early on weekends and have 6 plus people waiting to be served when you're alone and management refusing to shift anyone else on. Plus they blame you for not serving and managing customers fast enough. One full time staff member openly bullied newer employees, spoke negatively about colleagues and even other store managers, yet was never reprimanded because she was close with management. Instead, management allowed her behaviour to continue, making the workplace hostile for anyone not in her “inner circle.” Basic employee rights were also disregarded. Good luck getting a proper break, staff were told that if you asked for one it would “look bad” on your performance review. That type of comment is not just unprofessional, it is unacceptable. Customers even noticed how often I was reprimanded in front of them and made comments about it, that is how bad the culture was. Ask any question more than once, sometimes even just once and get met with "what do you think" in a sarcastic tone. No communication sink or swim training, had to guess yourself what tasks needed doing even if you're new and stared at if you ask questions. Actually unbelievable how they treat staff. On top of this, favoritism runs deep. Certain managers only hire and promote people from their own background which creates an exclusive environment and shuts others out. Pandora allows managers to build cliques instead of diverse, fair teams. If you are not part of management’s favourites, expect to feel unsupported, humiliated, and blamed for problems that are not yours. Pandora needs to take accountability and seriously review its leadership practices if they want to keep good staff.

Cons

Pros: Staff discount, decent products. Cons: Bullying tolerated, don't expect to get all your breaks, favoritism, humiliating feedback in front of customers, poor training, working an hour extra most days with no pay, toxic culture and demeaning manager.

Pros

Customers, pay, benefits. That’s it

Cons

Little to no training. Instead of allowing me to complete all of my online training courses I was directed to constantly shadow staff on the sales floor. I wasn’t properly shown how to use the scheduling system or given the how to guides within proper timing. So I was trained on how to be a sales associate not a store manager. Then thrown into my permanent location during Valentine’s holiday. So I had to learn a lot in a short amount of time with no real help or guidance. District manager was very overwhelming and overbearing. Highschool mined staff who start drama and rumors. Staff also had a major entitlement issue, someone wanted the manger position but didn’t get it I guess. No one is genuine there or trying to help you as a new manager. There’s a strict phone policy however, main comms happen on your phone so the policy is highly contradictory. If you’re not overly chipper and a yes man your Dm won’t like you and may say something like “I don’t think you’re a good fit here” after your first meeting, they make you feel very uncomfortable. It was so bad the Macys workers would ask me if I was ok when my Dm wasn’t around!! The energy is really bad here RUN!
