Pros

As a Senior Payroll Specialist, I have been employed at Parakar’s German office. As a positive point, I’d like to mentioned the nice co-workers and a good / modern office surroundings.

Cons

Downsides from working at Parakar is the ongoing troubles with its foreign clients due to late payroll processings. Unfortunately, the team is not able to deliver it’s promised services quality with results in a high-pressure working atmosphere.

Parakar Response

In response to this review, allow me to add my feedback: I agree with the fact that working at Parakar can be demanding, particularly since our business is highly dynamic, and strongly deviates from what a typical domestic 'HR or Payroll' specialist may know from their education or former jobs. At Parakar we are (succesfully) pioniering and leading the German market by bringing the concept of globally outsourced employment to Germany. We're developing from a startup to a scale-up with 2000% growth in 5 years time, bringing a very innovative business model to life within Germany's archaic labour market and its monolithic labour-law context. And yes, that's challenging. Particularly for HR- and Payroll specialists that come from a typical position where they operate in the backoffice of an organisation. We don't implement one simple employment and payroll model/bargaining agreement for a single German company with 400 workers, but we we implement the employment for 400 employees of 250 different companies in 5 different countries. That demands a flexible mindset, but at the same time a very strict adherence to standards to keep this under control. We deal with partners in every timezone, having clients in that same or yet even other timezones. That indeed gives timing-pressures that often don't follow the typical payroll cycle. We expect that our payroll- and HR-specialists not only are capable and competent in their area of expertise, but also have a client-focused and service-oriented attitude to work. So to bring their typical 'back-office' subject matter knowledge in the HR- and payroll domain, into the commercial front-office of our (and our partner's) business. I do have to largely contradict the remark 'the team is not able to deliver it’s promised services quality'. Or better: our clients contradict this remark for us, because almost all our clients give us positive ratings. And move all their business over to us, as soon as we open in any new country in Europe. And also in Germany, we see clients moving over to us from our competitors. Our recent expansion to France and Spain, literally comes from clients' question: Parakar, can you please open up in other countries, so that we can experience your service quality there like we do in Germany and Netherlands. So even though we agree that our quality can always improve, we don't agree that our client-base is unhappy with us.... So to all who are interested in working for Parakar: don't let the above remarks of an unnecesarily disgruntled employee hold you back. Just get in touch, and see for yourself!
