Pros

Team spirit is on a very high level as well as the working environment. ParkMan genuinely cares about employee well-being and hosts frequent team-building events, virtual and in-person, that help foster connection across departments. The culture is ambitious — teams are passionate, motivated, and always pushing to innovate and improve. At the same time, leadership clearly values people as more than just their output.

Cons

Sometimes there are too many opportunities to get involved — which can feel overwhelming if you don’t set boundaries. It’s great that leadership encourages growth and cross-functional collaboration, but it’s important to prioritize

Pros

One of the best parts of ParkMan is the culture. People are smart, friendly, and excited about the job they are performing. Work-life balance is great, management is generally supportive and understanding. I worked remotely but still felt as an important part of the team and was involved in the daily updates, slack conversations, etc. My manager trusted me and gave me freedom to move on my own, I did not feel micromanaged (and I liked that!).

Cons

Not having an office or a team at my work place was difficult at times, especially because of some benefits that I couldn't access like insurance or 401k.

Pros

Flexible working hours for the most part. When things were going well at the company, the spirit could be quite nice.

Cons

Where to start? As the review title states, the employees at ParkMan are being treated as nothing more than resources to get the work done. A good example of this is that the events held by the company were seen (by the management) as something "they have to do, ugh", not something that contributes to the wellbeing of the employees. During my time at ParkMan, it was made very clear that whatever the CEO says goes, and if you don't agree, you're out. This was emphasized as early as during the first job interview, when the CEO bragged about how many people he had fired, which further proves the point. The management had time and again proven that the way they want to lead is by intimidation and fear (and ignorance), manipulating the employees to do what they want. The manipulation was carried out in many forms, mostly in lies, empty promises, and threats of being fired. The topic of workplace bullying was brought up on a regular basis by the employees, and even somewhat recognized by the management, but no changes were made and the bullying continues to this day. The worst part in all of this is the fact that the management is trying to cover up this whole thing. It has come to the point where some of the reviews here on Glassdoor have been written by the management (guess which), which furthermore contributes to the argument that manipulation is a key driver in the company.

Thanks for your feedback. During a quick growth phase where we grew our team from 6 people to 25+ in just 1-2 years, it was hard to keep everyone happy. During this same time, we also had to rethink our strategy, which forced us to end the employment of a few people. It was a very stressful situation for everyone, including me. We have carefully analysed what went wrong, and I think we have been able to improve a lot based on your feedback. As first time founders, we have realised we need to recruit more senior people who can help us put processes in place and take responsibility of important things like HR, leadership, etc. Recruiting more seniors has helped us mature into a high performing team. I am sad your experience was not optimal, and I wish you good luck in the future. Br, Matias
