Pros

Everyone I know at PTF is driven by a desire to fight corruption and increase transparency and accountability of governments so they serve the interests of their citizens. There is a very collegial atmosphere and it is a pleasure to work with them.

Cons

There are no cons in my experience.

Pros

The people at Partnership for Transparency Fund are some of the nicest people I have ever met, much less worked with. It is like working with friends. They do the work because they believe in the cause of anti-corruption and transparency, and how that ultimately helps poor people around the world to get the government services they deserve. They treat their employees with respect. It feels like a privilege to work with them. Many of the younger employees use PTF as a stepping stone to better jobs with larger organizations.

Cons

Because PTF operates on a shoestring budget, they tend to pay less than market rate. Many of the executive team and board members are retirees after a career at the World Bank and other international organizations, so they have a pension and work on a volunteer basis. Therefore that kind of volunteer spirit extends to the senior staff and consultants they employ. I think they pay the junior staff close to if not market rates.
