Pros
everyone is super chill and nice, hours are pretty much guaranteed, the company is really true to its values in many ways. tons of free stuff, great discount. one hour lunches. the best healthcare plan any company can offer for PT, FT, and seasonals. it feels great to have "not bound by convention" moments.
Cons
customers are the most frustrating thing. lots of abuse of the warranty, all returns and swaps count against the profit for the day and it's frustrating. in a store in a big metro area you just have to let it happen. wish the repair process was more convenient from a large group of seasonal candidates only a very small amount can be hired permanently, very few jobs offer the benefits that patagonia does so it's hard to find an equivalent afterward. since very few permanent positions are available and roles do not get filled immediately when people leave everybody feels the strain if somebody quits or gets sick. difficult to impossible to find shift coverage if you need it because the pool of available employees is super small. as stated everybody is chill and nice but unless you are super-social all the time it can feel hard to get closer to people because the perm employees are obviously much closer
