Great People, Great Management, Great Support, Great Training and Shared Knowledge. Treats Employees as important members of the team, from the shop to the field to the office. Reluctant to layoff employees and would rather train employees during down time to better serve clients when things pick up.

Got bought and dismantled by SLB.

PathFinder (before acquisition by Smith and later by Schlumberger) used to have a very positive R&D environment. Management was committed to attracting and retaining talents and the compensation package showed. There was minimal bureaucracy. Management process was kept personable. People were friendly and satisfied.

At times engineers might feel they were held too tightly to tried-and-true methodology. Also, being a "small" company ("small" compared to Schlumberger, Baker Hughes, or Halliburton) with no more than a few new projects at a time, sometimes staffing was underutilized.
