Pros

- Very deep pocket so you can really get high salary if you know how to negotiate. - They offer ridiculously high referral bonus. - Convenient downtown location. - Some teams have a nice strong bond and are shielded from the overall company madness, so your mileage may vary.

Cons

I will mostly share fact events not personal opinions or interpretations, so if you got an offer from PayTM you can verify these points by yourself: - Turnover is relatively high, but that's not the issue. Many people left in their first few weeks or months, and many more left without even having another job offer! - It happened many times that projects get simply dropped and thrown away after many months of hard work. Change in direction and priorities can be really chaotic and frustrating. - There is a lot happening behind the scene within the so-called "leaders" including office politics, gossip and backstabbing. On many occasions it got very ugly when they decided to get rid of someone (e.g. deny your bonus, give you a fake bad performance review, isolate you). The CEO unfortunately sometimes choose to turns a blind eye. --- I still believe PayTM can be a good choice for many people. For example, those who enjoy collecting a big paycheck and do not mind to sacrifice a bit for that. You can definitely get a good jump in your salary that will help you in your next career move. Also, you could be lucky and get into a team that shield you from the company madness. Ignore the fake reviews, they were mostly within a short period of time and follow a very detectable pattern. If you got an offer, just try to speak with one team member that worked there for more than 2 years and does not have the VP-* title and ask them to give you their honest feedback. There is no one-size fits all, so just make sure that this is the right company culture for you personally based on your own judgement.

Pros

The engineering team was really talented.

Cons

I would strongly caution anyone considering this company. The workplace culture is toxic, starting with the leadership team, who exhibits authoritarian behavior and treats employees as mere resources rather than valued contributors. Here are some of the key issues I encountered: Deceptive Flexibility Promises: During the hiring process, the hiring team assured me of flexibility, including the ability to work from home. Initially, we were required to come to the office only once a week. However, this quickly escalated—first to twice a week, and then to a mandatory five days a week without warning or consideration for employees needing to make arrangements. This abrupt decision-making process disregards employee well-being entirely. Sudden Layoffs: Just four days after implementing the five-day in-office policy, the company terminated 25% of its workforce. This decision demonstrated a complete lack of foresight and empathy, leaving remaining employees demoralized and insecure about their positions. Unreasonable Work Expectations: In one instance, employees were told to work two consecutive weeks without weekends. This decision was non-negotiable, illustrating a blatant disregard for work-life balance and personal commitments. Stifling Open Dialogue: During town halls, the leadership team pretends to welcome employee feedback but punishes or even fires those who voice genuine concerns. This practice has created a climate of fear where employees feel silenced and undervalued. The human resources department lacks transparency and professionalism. This further reflects the company’s lack of respect for employees' expertise and contributions. Overall, this company fails to provide a supportive, transparent, or fair work environment. If you value respect, work-life balance, and professional growth, I highly recommend seeking opportunities elsewhere.
