      Pros

      its a good job, you make good money doing it and get to run big equipment and get to learn a lot.

      Cons

      I work a lot of hours, so I don't get to see my family very much and my 1 year old son.

      Great people who want to see you succeed, variety of tasks, opportunity to develop career.

      Hours may be a little more than some are used to, coal mines aren't for everyone, sometimes you may have to "figure it out"
