Pros

A top-rate research university that can provide an excellent work environment if you get the right post-doc position. If the post-doc you're considering is a good fit, this an excellent place to advance your skills and expand your network of contacts. Facilities and IT are by and large first rate.

Cons

State College is a town geared toward undergrads and families, so don't expect a lot of excitement unless you generate it yourself. This is central Pennsylvania, and it can feel somewhat remote. The Sandusky scandal is a black eye for the university, in my opinion, but it doesn't appear to be having a major impact on the university's prospects in the short- or long-term.

Pros

They were very flexible with hours and it was a fun place to work. There was lots of downtime to do other things while on the clock, and an e-bike to get around campus quickly.

Cons

Toward the end they got pretty strict about keeping your computer on a certain tab to take online tickets, and you could get in trouble for not doing it. It’s tedious work overall.

Pros

Great Benefits, Vacation, Sick Days, Personal Days

Cons

parking is normally far away from your building, and normally growth within your unit is difficult, so you have to tranfer to another to grow.
