Pros

Perdido Beach Resort is a terrific place to work and is located directly on the beach along Alabama's coastline. It's the largest resort hotel on Alabama's beach front and is a very employee-friendly establishment. Many of the employees working here have been with the hotel for 10 years or more and some have been around for more than 20 years. The benefit package is very comprehensive for a privately-owned hotel and the owners are accessible to employees and generally always around on the property. There is a lot to be said for working at a company that isn't part of a hotel chain because everyone has the chance to have their voice heard.

Cons

Sometimes information/communication could benefit from improvement. There are occasions where decisions are made and not all departments/employees are informed. I think this comes from people making assumptions that the information is getting passed along.

Pros

It starts off bad, from the time you fill out the application in the HR office and continues to plummet from there.

Cons

Awful pay and “perks”, some management takes/hides gratuity from staff to keep for themselves. They don’t pay you for the hours you work, you don’t/won’t get a break, believe me. They actually go and edit your time card and deduct from you anyway. Management and coworkers verbally abuse, threaten and bully new hires. Middle management turns a blind eye and upper management is fine with this; they laugh and actually delight in watching the profanity-filled rants and abuse of their staff. The walk from the employee lot to the time clock takes at least 15 minutes, if you walk fast. Don’t be late, you are required to punch in 7 minutes early but you won’t be paid for that. Don’t punch in 8 minutes or more early or you will get paid and then get yourself into a heap of trouble. Back rooms and other employee areas are not air conditioned, the walls are covered in black mold from all the humidity, neglect and lack of maintenance. Pipes often leak and drip into food or onto staff.
