Pros

Good benefits WFH Unlimited time off

Cons

Very unorganized. No management review process. Goals change frequently. Projects are started and classified as high priority and are then dropped quickly. Messaging is disorganized and management and ELT backtracks frequently. No career growth or career path. I don’t know any employees that were promoted in the three years I worked there. The first red flag for me was when the co-founder and CEO stated in an all hands meeting “slow to hire, quick to fire.” What type of message is that to give to your employees? There was immediate push back on that statement and numerous people expressed concern during the next all hands meeting and the company backtracked and tried to smooth it over. At the end of 2022 the president of the company said we were in a great place financially and there would be no layoffs. Immediately after the holidays there was the first round of layoffs. Obviously people were upset and scared. Leadership framed it as necessary for the health of the business and assured us it would be the last round. With the first round of layoffs the company lost its diversity, culture and also the employee retention programs. There was no longer any focus on making it a healthy workplace. I felt like just a number. A month or two later there was another round of layoffs and the people left were told they were the essential, core team. Two months later there was another round of layoffs and another half of the company was let go.
