Pros
I’ve worked in HR in organizations that have grown through acquisitions, and one thing I’ve always seen is how hard it can be to maintain a consistent culture when you’re integrating lots of different legacy practices. One of the things I really appreciate about Petfolk is that our de novo model allows us to build our culture intentionally from the ground up. When we open a new Pet Care Center, we’re bringing in teams that are aligned around the same values and way of working from day one.
I also really appreciate that we’re a technology-forward veterinary company. We’re constantly thinking about how technology can support better workflows, better communication, and ultimately better care for pets and a better experience for the teams providing that care.
Another thing that stands out is that we are very metrics-driven. In veterinary medicine there can sometimes be hesitation around data, but here it’s used in a way that supports better decision-making and helps teams focus on providing the best medicine possible.
Cons
Because of our growth, the environment is fast-paced. Not everything is fully built yet, and sometimes we’re figuring things out as we grow. For people who prefer a very structured, long-established organization, that may feel challenging. But for people who enjoy building and improving things, it’s actually one of the most rewarding parts of working here.
