Pros
The animals who come into store! They’re the best part of the job. Getting trained on what we’re selling so we can confidently talk to customers and feel like we’re making a difference. The team is also lovely, i’ve met some of my best friends through this job :)
Cons
The pay isn’t great, assistant managers only get 20p over minimum wage and managers aren’t much more than that. This means many people end up relying on commission BUT the commission is often times impossible to achieve: higher, more un achievable targets. The company making cuts to staff and hours/taking advantage of probationary periods to change contracts. Uniform standards: the fit is too tight for many people and often makes you feel uncomfortable along with no visible tattoos and facial piercings. Lone working and short staffed.
