Pros
I have been with PGW for 15 + years. The Company has gone through many changes during that time. Many of those changes are for the best. A few of those changes include adjusting non-Union salaries; development of a performance based rating system; and changes to certain policies. The Company has been remarkable during the pandemic, by allowing employees to work from home instead of being downsized. As a result of this, I am hoping more policy changes will allow employees to continue working from home when the pandemic is over. PGW has excellent benefits with a choice of a free HMO or a cost option. I am happy to see PGW become a much sort after employer.
Cons
Lack of dedication of new employees. Employees of a certain age only see PGW as a job; not a career. Reduce the Union probation period to 90 days. One year probation is very difficult. Change the Tuition Reimbursement eligibility from one year to six months. This will allow new employees to get a start on a college degree.
