Pros
I very much enjoyed working under my team's Lead Software Architect, as she continually promoted a creative work environment and encouraged continuous learning, as well as collaborating with the other members of my team. Decent salary and fair vacation/time-off.
Cons
Internal communication was abysmal. Miscommunication and non-communication at points impacted the level of support we could provide our clients, and you could ultimately not trust all of the information relayed to you by management. No performance review by management--our team self-imposed performance tracking and a weekly/6-month review process to ensure our own continual growth. Overall very little support from management; over-simplification and lack of proper requirements or understanding of scope were common. My work itself felt undervalued by management. Management also seemed resistant to adopting modern tools (such as AWS) and technologies. There is no company culture. Only company event is a yearly Holiday luncheon. No health benefits are offered. Due to the company's history there exists a facade of job security; our entire team was laid off with no warning.
