Pros
For the record, I no longer reward 5-star reviews as no job can ever be perfect but I have enjoyed my time at PHG. The people who work here are passionate and kind. It may take some time to feel included based on how many people you work with to get projects done, but once you get the hang of things there is a good sense of belonging and purpose. The pay is fair in my experience and there is room to grow. It helps to be assertive here - speak your mind (within reason) and you will do well. The work varies, which keeps you engaged and on your toes. Since it is an agency, you might have some slow days where you feel like you’re not contributing as much as you could but the weeks where there’s a lot of work to go around make up for it! I have learned a lot since starting at PHG, but I have also managed my own destiny for the most part.
Cons
This is an ad agency and with that comes the usual complaints of disorganization. PHG is no different. But, you can implement processes as long as you keep at it. That said, if you are very shy and tend to have some aversion to asserting your opinion, you might have some issues working here. There are some strong opinions, especially from the partners (rightly so). Keep your ego in check and be open to warranted criticism - if you get too defensive, you won’t last!
