Pros

PGW is a dysfunctional company and that might create ample opportunity for you to hone your skills fixing problems.

Cons

Caveat to the Pros: Dysfunction is created by people who have difficient technical skills, poor communication skills, poor comprehension skills (reading and otherwise), unprofessional temperments, and little interest in learning anything outside the narrow scope of their jobs. Management will be all too happy to ring all of the contributions they can get out of you while depriving you (via various machinations) of recognition and reward, if they have tagged you as not worthy of respect and elevation. So by the time you have honed your skills, you might end up feeling used and abused – and that might be when it’s time to check out – for the sake of your sanity. “keep track” of your interactions and communications with chronically difficult people at this place. Warning: When an HR principle calls the work environment “Cut Throat” where people get “Put in their place” and that same principle is afraid to use what power should be invested in someone with their job title to remediate an employee relations problem, then that speaks volumes about the corporate culture at that company. I have also heard from two former employees who call PGW an evil company.
