Pros

Platform is made up of some of the most genuine, hardworking, talented team members people you will ever meet, for now. Friday's are off in the summer because they overwork, under-appreciate you & underpay you. But hey, who doesn't like a long weekend for two months?

Cons

The senior leadership (CEO/COO) does not care about the staff. They favour certain people and they don't hide it. They refuse to take action, address issues and create processes that would honestly fix a lot of issues. For over three years these conversations have been ongoing and it's astounding that the board has not intervened. Platform has lost so many incredible people and I believe the turnover will continue to happen until drastic measures are put into place. For Terry having a PHD in Strategy, he really doesn't understand strategy.

Pros

Strong external branding and PR. The organization looks good from the outside, and it’s connected to Calgary’s innovation ecosystem. If you're only here for your resume or to network externally, you might get some mileage.

Cons

Leadership hires their personal connections and past colleagues into roles behind closed doors, skipping transparent processes entirely. It’s less about merit, more about who you know (in the worst way possible) Various people are let go without clear reason. There’s no feedback, no performance framework—just politics. Good people leave fast. Some are pushed out for being too competent or let go without reason. If you challenge decisions or refuse to play along with the internal clique, you’re out. It’s a toxic culture built on fear and false collaboration. Leadership loves to talk about equity, innovation, and community—but fails to embody any of it behind the scenes. It’s all PR, no backbone. When things go wrong (layoffs, mistreatment, bullying from leaderships, staff turnover), leadership disappears. There’s no transparency, no accountability. Don’t expect any professional development, mentorship, or a clear trajectory either. Their high turnover speaks for itself.
