Great company to work for - Legal Counsel Plextek Services Employee Review

I have previously worked in high pressure MNCs, so it's taken a while to get used to the more relaxed atmosphere here but this way allows more creativity to flow and is a better way of working for me. As it is based outside of Cambridge city, it is much easier to get to than the science park. The team are lovely. There is flexitime with core hours (0930-1630) There is a social committee with some nice internal events.

You need to take the initiative to make change. As it's project client work, the flexitime is basic with limited WFH ability, but the company couldn't work any other way. As its a relatively small company (85 ish people) there are less fluffy benefits than some other companies (free fruit and biscuits rather than a full canteen), but bringing your own lunch in isn't an issue!

Relaxed environment, a technical career path, nice countryside. Rewards people who are pro-active, work hard and deliver. Interesting work. Opportunity to forge your own career direction - but up to you to be proactive. Senior management approachable and generally equitable.

Seems to be lurching along without much in the way of a strategy. Some flexi time, but quite limited. Lots of short projects - don't know what you are doing in 3 months time (though for some that is a plus) If you are not good at your job, or are a slacker you will be out the door quicker than a flash.
