The health benefits are terrible.. The health insurance for H1B consultants offered is via "Care First" is not cheap. For employee only health insurance benefit , the premium is 400$ per month. That is almost 4800$ per year. But the insurance offered is through "Care First" and has a deductible of 5000$ . Effectively this means you have to pay out of pocket (4800 +5000) = 9800 $ before insurance contributes anything. The only benefit I see from this insurance coverage is that it lets you go to specialists but then you receive a letter within a week saying insurance company paid 0$ towards the cost of the visit and the employee owes the full amount of for the cost of the visit. Even market place insurance plans offer better deductibles than the employer provided medical insurance from Populus Group. If you have dependents the premium for the insurance is close to 900$ per month. For a company of this strength it is a shame to have such bad medical benefits. I have asked around and other employees also say they have complained repeatedly but no one pays any attention. Probably there is some secret tie up with BCBS/Care First to offer such unhelpful plans to so many employees
