Pros

PORT welcomed me as a novice in the MH/SA field and provided opportunities for me to obtain work experience and advancement once I earned my degree. I definitely felt as if I was making a difference in the lives of individuals that I worked with. I felt as if I were part of a team dedicated to helping others.

Cons

Facilities and working conditions were not welcoming and detracted from a therapeutic setting. Once achieving professional licensure, there was little opportunity for further advancement and the day to day routine became monotonous with very high caseloads.

Pros

Privatel owned Rehab facility with great insurance benefits, compared to state/federally funded facilities. Excellent support from Clinic Director.

Cons

Some of the CSACs tend to think they're more knowledgeable than licensed clinicians, which caused tension between treatment providers. Some SAIOP groups were disorganized and lacked structured curriculum.
