Pros

The people at the company are genuinely helpful and want to see you succeed. Many employees are willing to take the time to explain things and guide you when needed. There’s a strong sense of camaraderie, with colleagues often stepping up to help, and the initial impression during the lead-up was great. It’s clear that the environment fosters a lot of support, and you can always rely on others to lend a hand.

Cons

Despite the support, there's a certain level of smoke and mirrors at play. Some of the lower-level staff are more helpful than the management or partners, who can be less engaged. While some colleagues encourage growth, others are more focused on their own tasks and may push their own agendas in indirect ways. There are also individuals who may appear friendly but don’t follow through with sincere intentions. They will talk behind your back and avoid offering honest feedback during reviews. This lack of direct communication can be frustrating, as problems aren’t addressed head-on. Some partners, unfortunately, may offer backhanded compliments or even indirect insults, with no formal action taken to protect employees from this behavior. Reviews tend to feel surface-level, only addressing issues when something goes wrong, rather than fostering honest, open conversations. My exit felt like I was swept under the rug like I wasn't part of the team which shows their contradicting philosophy. They will throw you under the bus.

Pros

Competitive pay, good insurance, overtime, modern office

Cons

-As a new hire with little experience, you are expected to have the knowledge of an experienced staff accountant. With that being said, this company hires and misleads new grads for tax season, then a month after tax day, they start letting a few people go at a time. -Don't be fooled by the modern office look, the backbone of this company is archaic and FAR from women friendly. -Upper management is stuck in their old ways and the majority of them are extremely aggressive, especially the women. -I have never worked for a company whose "bosses" speak so poorly about other employees while in THE SAME OFFICE and others can clearly hear what they are saying about them. -Lack of communication, coaching, and teaching
