Politics and favoritism run rampant. The team functioned as if it was 1985- it's not. Our work was not innovative, proactive or forward thinking. I recieved a bad review for being dedicated to DEI initiatives. 1. How could this be a bad thing? 2. The website and executives tout that PGE is devoted to this work. 3. In this current time, companies are expected to do more and be better.
My role as a communicator was to make the brand look good - there was nothing to sell and nothing to learn. You didn't fall in line, and do what had been done for years, and you were fired, or moved. There is no room to grow or innovate.
