Pros

I have been working at Powerfront for around 7 months now. I can honestly say that when I researched the company on Glassdoor during the interview process I was a bit nervous due to a couple of the older reviews. I am happy to say that they were not at all accurate and I am very satisfied with my current situation. I have found that my manager is very supportive and gives me direction whenever I need it. Management is also very flexible when it comes to sick leave and paid time off. I never have to fight to get the time/days I need. My manager also encourages work/life balance a lot and often tells me to not work over the weekend when I am not finished with my projects by Friday. Another really cool part of working here is the product. The software is so unique and fun. Every team member that I have worked with truly believes in the product and wants to help grow the company. The avatars are so cute and I was happy to find out when I started that you get to pick your own avatar to put into your email signature. There is a lot of opportunity for job growth and the company prides itself on you doing what you enjoy. Some employees even had roles created just for them when they expressed interest in working in other departments within the company. I can definitely see myself staying with this company for a long time. You don't have to be on camera all the time as some reviews stated. There are days with a lot of meetings, but when you are not in a meeting you are free to work off camera and concentrate.

Cons

Due to the nature of being a tech company, the work load can be hefty and unpredictable at times, but every team member I have worked with is so helpful and ready to assist that I never feel lost. I also think that all of the projects I have worked on so far have really helped me develop as a professional so none of them felt like wasted time or effort. Some meetings are outside of working hours due to the company having a global workforce but they don't occur regularly. The benefits are normal for an American company: health insurance, remote work, Paid holidays, sick leave, and 401k. The only thing that I would like to see is 401k matching, but I have been told that this is something coming in the near future.

Pros

The Powerfront team is filled with amazing hard working people that are very dedicated to their passions

Cons

1. Only a fitting company for very confident people. I believe that it would be difficult for a quiet or shy individual to thrive in a workplace that in my opinions seems to reward the most outspoken individuals, and publicly calls out mistakes in dramatic ways 2. Extremely fast-paced, depending on position it may be difficult to feel that your work is wrapped up by the end of your typical work day. Not atypical to work unpaid overtime(at the time I was employed) 3. Depending on position, it can be difficult to get a clear sense of what is expected, and it is common for some members of upper management to accuse people of poor listening and laziness, it seems that they expect all to be mind readers. Expectations from upper management are high, and an employee’s efforts to express this are met with harsh criticism of their talent/working habits. Several employees have cried due to mistreatment. 4. I would not feel comfortable working in this establishment as a minority 5. Upper management turns the work environment into a competition between all employees by directly comparing individuals when something goes wrong 6. Must beware of the daily mood changes of upper management, I would not feel comfortable sharing any opinions or going through reviews on bad days 7. Company asks employees to post positive reviews to take attention away from bad reviews, and upper management posts 5 star reviews frequently to re-balance overall rating. You can see from looking at the wording in some reviews. 8. No CEO approval even in forced 5 star reviews 9. Remote but essentially never leave work, can be called in any time and face consequences if you are unable to 10. Poor organization and HR department, most did not feel comfortable reporting anything
