Cannot Retain Talent - Mechanical Engineer Pratt & Whitney Employee Review

Pros

Majority of people are willing to help.

Cons

Retention policy for employees makes zero sense. For some reason upper management and HR will not budge on increasing salaries to keep up with inflation but cry a river about employees leaving. Engineers are not simple to replace even if you get lucky and get an experienced hire it still takes months to a year for them to be effective.

Pros

Plenty of opportunity to move up within the company. Willing to pay for schooling through Raytheon's education program. Plenty of PTO and sick time.

Cons

I feel that the location I was at did not pay competitively.

Pros

Decent pay and good benefits.

Cons

Personnel reporting to me had apparently looked up my political affiliation (which I had never mentioned) and took exception to it by sabotaging work that I had supervised. This was well before 2022 - actually 2015-2016 (2022 is earliest review date I could select). I was just now remembering it. This polarized political posture was a function of the plant being near Harrisburg, PA which, at least then, was a somewhat "redneckish" area. I have never discussed my politics at work, so it seemed absurd of them to look up my party affiliation and take issue with it.
