Recent acquisition literally changed Account Manager titles to Application Specialist and literally told us that we will have to reapply for our position to retain our jobs. No joke. They are making our department more tech focused and forcing everyone in a training to then STILL have to apply and interview. We were indirectly advised by leadership in a redesign meeting that there weren't enough positions opening for the amount of people that were in the affected departments (about 200 people total in the 3 departments, only 50-70 of the new positions by the end of this year). Someone asked what they would do with everyone else and the woman advised that they will have a meeting q1 of 2023 to determine next steps. That's pretty much code for layoffs.
My opinion is that they want people to quit so they don't have to pay them severance for laying them off next week. It is working. People are leaving by the truckloads from all 3 positions, and leaders are leaving as well. The atmosphere is so terrible that you could cut the tension with a butter knife. It feels like the Hunger Games over positions. For a company that preaches culture and inclusiveness, I feel the complete opposite.
And this isn't a fluff review. This is happening in real time. Multiple reviews saying the exact same thing. STAY AWAY if you value compensation and job security.
