Pros

1) Small "Family-Type" Atmosphere. Small team. Everyone knows each other and relies upon one another to get the job done. Relationships are important. 2) Hands off approach to management. If you do your job and do it well, you are left to do your job. If guidance is needed, it is provided. If you need to be "managed" you will be. 3) Management trust. Two weeks into role, the owner was already soliciting my feedback/input on important decisions. Solicitation for opinion has continued to grow. Owner may be smartest guy in the room, but does not feel the need to let you know. Some execs walk around feeling the need to be "respected" (perhaps with a genuflection to boot). Owner treats his people as peers. 4) Flexibility and trust in the talent and experience of the individual. In my short time here - owner has allowed me to adjust sales processes based upon my experience in the industry. 5) NO interoffice POLITICS 6) Unlimited earning potential. If you hunt and kill it, you can eat to your heart's content (none of this "you sold too much and earned too much in commissions, time to change commission structure"...) 7) Though a small company - if you perform well and are an asset to the growth of the company - you will find a path for advancement. 8) As the exclusive distributor of AIP components to the America's, Prime One sells excellent equipment with excellent support from its partner AIP. The folks at AIP are top notch as well. You are selling equipment and services that you have confidence in selling (and getting repeated business). 9) In my 26 years in the industry - I am having fun. Good challenges to solve and growth to be had. 10) If you are a team player and dedicated (dedication != 50-60 hour weeks) you will fit in well and be appreciated.

Cons

1) Owner wears too many hats. The goal is to staff to a point where he can focus on the most important parts of the business for growth and delegate the rest to capable employees. 2) Growth takes time and can be painful.

Pros

A global company in partnership with a German equipment supplier, friendly safe atmosphere, helpful co-workers, health care & 401K benefits, and good customers.

Cons

Automotive industry business. However, unlike other automotive supplier businesses tied solely to production activities the customer base is mainly OEM, regulatory, and tier supplier testing laboratories so daily activities can be planned and not driven by the 'crisis of the moment'.
