Pros

-The people are great, fun to be around and not too serious -Had multiple managers during my time there and they mentored me as a young professional -Extremely flexible remote work schedule -Open book financials practicing GGOB

Cons

-Non-competitive pay -Relied on too much of business portfolio with one client, risky strategy especially when contracts are not resigned -Bonus is company profit based and system is quite confusing, you are not incentivized for individual performance -Although the remote work makes for a flexible environment, team efficiency and motivation was impacted -Work left me unfulfilled, it was not exciting or impactful -High turn over rate, employee sentiment about the state of the company was mixed at best -A senior leader gave the impression of not caring, never attending rare in-person office days, even showing up virtually to colleague's performance reviews -Performance review process is inefficient and a waste of time -Trying to grow the business, but focused on hiring rather than securing work. People were left without work to do when contracts were not signed

Primera Engineers Response

Thank you for the feedback; we're sorry to hear you felt unfulfilled and wish you the best in your next role. We'd like the opportunity to clarify that we're heavily focused on diversification and growth, outside hiring, which we share during all-company meetings and on our intranet. As a Chicago-based firm, we acquired a firm and their contracts in Denver last year, we established an office and obtained our FBE certification in Atlanta, and we had more than 50 people working on contracts in Dallas. Less than half our business comes from utility clients, thought we are actively pursuing new utility clients in Pennsylvania, Florida, Atlanta, Dallas, and Colorado. We utilize industry benchmarking data to offer competitive pay, and we agree there are tremendous benefits to in-office work, but we've maintained that's a decision each individual can make.

Pros

They have an HR consultant who really does a good job at finding people who are enjoyable to work with. The benefits are pretty standard.

Cons

Pay is definitely below the average. Upper management is unaware of how day-to-day business actually runs and so decisions don't always reflect what could be best for workflow. You have to prove you're capable of doing the position before you get promoted.
