Well-meaning employees but poorly run hospital - Pharmacist Providence Employee Review

Pros

-fellow employees were generally friendly and hard-working, though politics could easily turn certain areas toxic very easily due to the small number of staff in each area -approximately half of the physicians were competent and easy to work with - the other half were either rude, dangerous or a combination of the two -mission-driven, willing to "go the extra mile" for patients without financial means to pay for hospitalization/medication

Cons

-insane turnover (especially for pharmacists and physicians). Management is desperate to retain any and all warm bodies, so there is no penalty for creating hostile work environments or being dangerously incompetent. Certain physicians are sent to peer review time and time again yet they continue to practice unrestricted. I have serious concerns about several employees ability to practice safely (physicians, pharmacists and nurses alike) - they come to Providence because they know they wouldn't be able to practice anywhere else. -hospital was facing severe financial problems when I left with waste (especially in pharmacy) occurring at staggering rates. Basics like hospital beds with electronic scales or having working A/C and heat in the pharmacy were not provided in favor of wasting money on other ideas that did not positively affect patient care or worker safety/comfort

Pros

coworkers pay supporting people in community They post the same job in multiple locations because they are open to having that role exist in different locations in many cases (note the pay is also based on where as well though) Info for those reading reviews to get a picture: I'm United States, but India reviews should really be separate feedback entirely, paid less and fed daily (read location: Hyderabad).

Cons

My last management was completely toxic Had health issues and a valid claim that was ignored, only pressured Was pushed out by my management when they found out my salary Mgmt requested to submit feedback for improvement, then retaliated Since HR was outsourced and trying to protect the company from further lawsuits (I was not one but contemplated due to validity) of absolutely no help and honestly, completely inappropriate. You will be repeatedly asked to provide feedback, but it will be killed with a 1 on 1. If I had laid down and taken the angry repercussions of their poor process implementation, and their complete lack of accountability, I would still be there - I just would have transferred to another manager. Some managers and teams are more toxic than others, but favoritism and bullying are allowed and seen Overworked and under-represented but was great for several years.
