great long term opportunities pay better than others in the industry benefits if you qualify are adequate advancement opportunities for anyone with the ability promote from within

Cons

nearly always working weekends and odd hours management not always competent tough to get rid of those that don't fit the Publix culture lack of training for managers tends to cause problems performance evaluations are useless for those that do their job well as feedback between them is often hard to come by unless you make a mistake.

Pay and bonus structure is competitive.

Cons

Work life balance, company has double standards for those wanting to move up. -No consistency, moving target in terms of moving up. Made to feel guilty if you have family challenges that may need your undivided attention in terms to calling out. Once your a manager, they seem to put you anywhere close to your home. One time a manager was placed 57 miles, one way from home (60 miles requires relocation package). When topic is brought up to be closer to home, the response is, "you know this was part of the perks of being a manager".
