Pros
I teach two freshman courses, both of which are 'accelerated'. Hence, the students are by and large excited and willing to learn. You can take on more responsibility to get more hours if you like and will be treated with respect.
Cons
Usually, the GTAs are in charge of labs and they are often less equipped to handle students as they are unfamiliar with the course, its contents, and how to simplify the concepts.
