Pros
Very nice and honest people. Generally speaking, the people are hardworking, courteous, and genuine. The West Lafayette development committees have been doing a good job at expanding the local shops but unfortunately, it's mostly chains.
Cons
Not much going on in Lafayette or West Lafayette. It's a bit to far to get to the beach and skiing is non-existent - that is, unless you don't mind driving 3 hrs to get to what would be considered a "bunny hill" in Colorado. Pollution is pretty bad and the Wabash river is pretty filthy - you're asked not to swim in it and definitely don't eat the fish you catch.
