Bad, bad, and more bad - Engineer RLA Engineering Employee Review

Pros

I was able to keep my pay rate that I had from previous firm

Cons

Came from a different contracting firm, but was told to switch because it would save the client money. Insurance options are bad, and all of the management decisions are purely to put more money into their pockets. Every year they will come up with a way to downgrade your insurance so it costs less for them. The oversight from management is tedious and obnoxious. They are a contracting firm, so they purely exist to employ you for another company, but for some reason it is like having a second job with RLA. They are constantly asking what you are doing and 'are there any other employment options that we should try to fill?'.

Pros

It's a job where you are the product. RLA sells your services to HP. You can ignore all your monthly meetings with your RLA manager, because what are they going to do? RLA will not fire you. They need you to work, because you are their revenue stream.

Cons

The RLA managers still try to micromanage you. If you travel on an HP business trip RLA tries to put you on a per diem, even though they just expense everything back to HP.
