Pros
Training and graduate experience RSM provides is good
Cons
- Main gripe with RSM's audit division is it is filled with foreigners, especially at the manger level, who have poor communication skills and don't respect Australia's work culture (i.e. work/life balance, respect for junior staff). - Audit clients are pretty average (ASX nano caps, local governments) and dealing with them is a nightmare. As a mid-tier, RSM has very little leverage to drop these clients or raise the price on them. You will find yourself powerless and at the complete behest of the client because of this. - There are major differences between managers and expectations they have on staff/approaches to work. - Part of the workforce is remote based in Malaysia and having to work with them as a graduate is a major roadblock to learning. - Numerous instances of unprofessionalism during my time. The firm has grown strongly to get to where it is now, but the professionalism/culture has not kept up.
