Pros
Ravelin is an incredibly human place to work. I've been in the market for many many years now and I've never experienced something like this. Sweeney is very down to earth and founders really care for us, they've kept a lean business and no layoffs have taken place in spite of the market conditions affecting more or less all tech companies. Colleagues are also generally very nice and people tend to be very understanding when it comes to sick leave and life in general. When it comes to the business side of things, a few years back the company was struggling to capture new clients and reinvent itself after the first big success in the most general spectrum of fraud prevention. Since then however, founders have iterated many times and now it feels like the wheel is spinning smoothly again, with new clients and products down the pipelines. Props to senior management for getting the hard work done. Benefits are really good. They do clearly make an effort to even out lower salaries with great benefits. Especially when it comes to flexibility and time management.
Cons
As mentioned, salaries are well below market average in my opinion. Additionally, the level isn't great when it comes to mid-management. Plenty of people with little management skills and no previous experience in management makes it hard sometimes to raise concerns, get proper feedbacks or a medium/long term career plan.
