Pros
The team are immensely bright, knowledgeable
and driven, consequently, they get results.
The CEO is something of an SEO celebrity. He's been in the industry since forever and knows it inside out. He's also a genuinely nice person who wants the best for his company and his team.
Because the team is small, you have direct contact with your colleagues and a significant amount of input when it comes to decision making, pitches and client services. As a result, it's a great place to learn on the job.
They have a lot of big plans and great ideas. Nothing is off the table and everything is considered in terms of strategy to achieve results. However, there's a great deal of integrity and if it's not going well, they'll own it. It rarely doesn't go well.
They're a really lovely bunch of people.
You'll get to go to lots of awards ceremonies.
Cons
Because it's small, the structure is relatively horizontal. But they're ever-expanding and the team develops as the business grows.
They're lacking someone to oversee the day to day running of the business, an MD or Business Director. The CEO is amazing at the macro, visionary level elements but spends the majority of his time on lead gen/pitches. As the business expands and the team grows, that gap needs to be filled.
