Pros
Smart, talented, friendly staff - lots of cool people. Company is very charitable (not to employees unfortunately), with employee gift matching and much of the portfolio supports the owner's foundation. Small perks like office lunches and team building activities. Casual dress.
Cons
Employees are not valued, especially roles not directly related to rates of return or capital raise. If your skills can't be measured by a dollar amount they don't matter. Management manages money well, but not people. Expect to work with little to no direction from most managers, but full accountability. Long hours are required. Pay increases and bonuses are a joke, if you're lucky to even get it. The HR department is the worst. Very unprofessional, talk openly about terminations or other things that should be confidential. A lot of cattiness and gossip coming from that department.
