Pros

Unlimited time off as long as you don't take off more than 2 weeks a year (I was literally told this by a co-worked when I first started), had decent perks before Covid (catered breakfast and lunches 3 days a week, snacks) and the occasional company event. Most of the people I worked with were great and capable.

Cons

FTO is really limited to 2 weeks a years and is a way for the company to not have to pay you out for any time off you have acquired (since you can't acquire any) Leadership seems to be thrilled with themselves for doing the bare minimum for its employees. During Covid, we were given almost no support. Granted, they weren't "required" to do anything but we were given a $50 stipend to help with internet costs and that was it. No help with getting what we needed for a home office setup or any support really. The office perks that came with the job were gone and no effort to come up with a substitution was made. The pay bands don't make sense and I discovered I was being paid the less than a co-worker with the same title who was hired a year or so after I was. My pay was eventually adjusted to match, but when the review cycle came along, I was denied a pay raise since my salary had "already been adjusted" despite my positive review from my manager. The CEO and leadership team lack transparency. During my 3+ years working here, there was constant turnover and attrition. The leadership team would touch on it from time to time, but never addressed the reasons why it was happening. They would also say they were working on the issue , but I can't remember them being specific about any tangible actions they were taking. Additionally, in the months leading up to the mass lay-offs, there was no indication that there were any issues. When I was laid off I was told it was because of "the economy" but mind you, they had literally just acquired a company a couple of months or so prior (LeapRev, you can read the press release on their site) as well as hired 3 new people on my team. This is not a decision a company makes from one day to the next and hiding that there are issue is by definition the opposite of transparency.
