This place has gone entirely off the rails - Senior Platform Engineer Red Ventures Employee Review

Working in the tech side used to be amazing. When I started at RV around 5 years ago everything was great. It had its warts but at its core, RV was phenomenal. What I've observed is that senior leadership has been less than candid with its employees over the last 2 years and it has continually whittled away at what little remained of the culture after COVID ripped us out of what we'd grown accustomed to. Today, RV is faced with senior leadership (VP+) that lack vision for the business, an ability to communicate succinctly to their employees, and that have a complete disconnect with reality. The belief that people are working here because of the "culture" and the intrinsic, intangible things permeates through leadership. When we perform annual reviews, when we calibrate staff, we find every possible way to bring high-performing staff down to "3" which merits a solid 2-4% raise. Our highest performers are expected to perform at the next role (or even up to two roles higher) to receive a 4. We have a "5" rating which is an unachievable goal that get awarded because we *have to have* at least one five to keep our metrics on track with where we want them.
