Pros

Working at Redsail opened the door to a world of opportunities in my field. Prior to my employment with Redsail, I worked in development for a few companies with very little structure and unobtainable goals placed on us my managers that had no idea what our work entailed. I like a good challenge, but working with incompetent management made my job feel impossible. Fast-forward to my being hired at this company—my career made a complete 180 as soon as I started working here. Having competent management at my side with industry experience was probably the biggest factor in the increase in my job satisfaction. They were understanding of our limitations, and they did an excellent job of communicating their expectations with us in advance so we didn’t need to go back and patch up our mistakes after the fact. The team was great to work with as well. I don’t know if it was the encouraging work environment, or if the hiring managers had a penchant for finding good personalities, but they were some of the pleasant people I had ever worked with. Everyone on the team took accountability for their errors instead of pointing fingers, and they were happy to give their input on projects too. We had the perfect combination of minds where we could all learn and grow from each other.

Cons

After doing similar work for over three years, I felt that I needed exposure to new material in order to stay interested. I can’t fault Redsail for this, it’s more of a personal preference that I switch up my work a bit every few years.

Pros

Leadership actually cares about employee feedback and is taking steps to improve employee experience and operations by conducting feedback surveys and sharing plans of action with employees. Lot's of company changes over the last 2 years that will lead to improvements down the line. Lots of benefits and climbing. New performance based bonus stucture.

Cons

Too many silos across the company and cross functional collaboration could be better. Each team functions very separately so roles that require working with multiple teams can become challenging.
