Redkite Response
2yThank you for taking the time to write this review and share your feedback. Sharing your views on what makes Redkite great and what could be improved is valuable insight for us and we will take time to consider your observations as we look to continually build our culture and ways of working.
I have addressed some of the points you have made, however if you wish to discuss any of this further, please feel free to reach out to my directly (henry@redkite.com) or any of our people team members.
Firstly, it is great to hear that you have enjoyed taking advantage of our working from home policy over the past few months as we look to build out our first solely occupied workspace. It is important for us to offer flexibility for our people in how and where they work as part of our continued effort to have a thriving group of employees. With that said, we are very excited to move into our new office later this month and believe this is the right thing for Redkite’s future. We are paying substantially less per square foot than the last office, have saved money in 2023 vs 2022 and believe that a physical office is important for Redkite’s culture and ability to work well with clients and partners. I also appreciate your positive feedback on the extra holiday days we provided this year. Taking time to recharge is vital for our people so they are able to maintain a healthy lifestyle - we are glad to hear you were able to take advantage of this.
As you have observed, we have had a lot of growth over the past couple of years due to an increase in demand from clients. As with any consultancy, getting the balance right between having enough people to deliver work sufficiently for our clients, without overloading our current employees, and forecasting new client demands can be a challenge and, at times, impacted by consumer spend and the economy. I still believe that Redkite has a lot of growth potential and 2023 has been a year of learning and change to ensure we can utilise this potential in the future. It is important for us to move the business into a new way of working for the scale that we are now and want to be in the future. I appreciate these changes can be disruptive to employees and can feel as though we are moving away from the original culture we had as a smaller, start-up business, so your feedback is truly valued and will help us adapt our processes and ways of communicating to ensure we bring people with us on this journey.
In relation to the discretionary bonus not being paid out for 2022, we were confident that this is something we would be able to share with our people, however as client demand has slowed down over the year, we had to make the unfortunate decision to not pay it this year.
When it comes to promotions, we believe in rewarding our people and compensating them fairly based on their individual competencies, skill-set, feedback, and experience. Promotions were made the week before the announcement, we needed to draw a line at some point and this can look more stark due to the fact that we have rolling reviews from join date, not fixed annual or bi-annual reviews like other companies. That being said, we have listened to the feedback we have received on the review process and will be making the necessary changes to ensure it is managed more efficiently in the future. Thank you again for sharing your thoughts on this topic.
I hope this response addresses some of the observations you have made about Redkite and hope that we can continue to build a thriving team and business together. There is a huge amount of potential ahead of the company, and we’ve seen repeatedly that our clients highly value the outstanding work that the Redkite team delivers.
