Cons
RHINOSHIELD is a company plagued by a toxic culture that stifles its employees and prioritizes the fragile ego of one man above all else. The CEO, who seems to have risen to his position on the coattails of family wealth rather than genuine skill, rules with an iron fist. His emotional instability leads to arbitrary decision-making, leaving everyone in fear of becoming his next target. Decisions swing wildly based on his mood, creating a chaotic work environment where nothing feels secure. The atmosphere is suffocating, filled with verbal and mental abuse. My team and I faced threats and intimidation daily, whether through aggressive messages on Slack or belittling remarks in meetings. It’s demoralizing to work under someone who resorts to name-calling and bullying rather than constructive feedback. Even after reporting this behavior to HR, we were met with silence. HR has utterly failed in its duty to protect employees, allowing a culture of fear and distrust to thrive. As for communication and direction? Forget it. We’re nearing the end of 2024, and many of us still don’t have clear performance goals or any semblance of a strategic plan. How are we supposed to succeed or earn bonuses when we’re left in the dark? The meager bonuses offered are a joke compared to the low salaries that don’t reflect the talent and effort required. Many of us have considered leaving simply because the compensation does not align with our skills or experience but the company knows that some of us needs this job to be able to get a visa and stay in Taiwan, sad truth. The high turnover rate means everyone is doing multiple jobs, constantly scrambling just to keep things afloat. It’s not unusual for team members to be assigned roles they weren’t even hired for, which only adds to the pressure and chaos. The workload is crushing, and it’s only exacerbated by the CEO’s unpredictability. One day you’re safe; the next, you could be blamed for the team’s failures without any warning. Despite his preachings about sustainability, he shows up daily with a Starbucks cup and plastic lid, proving how hollow his commitments really are. It’s infuriating to hear him call employees unprofessional while he embodies the very traits he criticizes. The lack of transparency and managerial skill is astonishing, and there’s zero opportunity for growth or development. Employees are left feeling stuck, undervalued, and overworked. In short, if you value your mental health and career, steer clear of RHINOSHIELD. This place is a ticking time bomb of toxicity, and you deserve better. The environment is not just unproductive; it’s harmful. Take my advice and look elsewhere—you’ll thank yourself later.
