Pros

Ricca is a very small organization and most employees there are honest hard working people. It a great opportunity for individual without a degree. You can start as a packager and become a supervisor with no college education.

Cons

Ricca's management team is looking for"yes" men. If you are someone who has new ideas or someone with your own ideas then you probably will not be working there long. You have a president that wants to micro-manage every operation of the company. The president does not understand management principles because the president has informed supervisor's when he was going to fire upper mangement. Totally unprofessional. They company has meeting to ask employees to meet goals and promise to reward them. When the goals are met, the company does not keep thier word. This is one reason most employees are not engaged when they arrive to work.

Pros

During my time at Ricca Chemical Company, I valued several aspects of the role. I worked alongside skilled colleagues who demonstrated strong teamwork and were supportive of one another. The work offered good variety in chemical blending tasks, which kept things engaging. My direct supervisor was particularly supportive and invested in his team's success. The position allowed me to develop valuable transferable skills in chemical manufacturing, safety protocols, and following detailed procedures. The company maintained clear batch procedures and safety requirements, which provided structure for completing work accurately and safely.

Cons

The company's approach to performance management could have been more transparent - I would have appreciated earlier communication if concerns were developing about my work. The incident reporting system, while well-intentioned for safety purposes, sometimes attributed equipment and PPE failures to individual employees rather than identifying them as systemic issues. This created confusion about accountability. Additionally, when I requested documentation following my termination to better understand the decision, the company declined to provide my personnel records. In hindsight, clearer expectations around incident reporting thresholds and more regular feedback throughout the year would have been helpful for everyone involved.
