Pros

Almost three years ago I came to work for Riesterer & Schnell through a local staffing agency as a Detailer. With hardly any history of dealing with heavy equipment and little to no experience in the “wash and wax department”, needless to say I have learned a great deal in this AWESOME agriculture industry. When I signed on with the staffing agency I was in desperate need of a job that had somewhere to aspire to. Milking cows 60 to 70 hours a week with split shifts that hardly paid much let alone overtime pay, I was desperate. Little did I know, I would be given such an opportunity through a local employment agency.  My current role in the Campbellsport store is a Service Technician as of a year and a half ago after having moved from the Detailer position. Never in the vision of my future, did I foresee myself turning wrenches at a John Deere dealership but the door was open and I chose to walk through it. This position is filled with unlimited knowledge and experience to acquire and that has a great impact on my optimistic outlook of getting up and going to work every morning.

Cons

I have not experienced any cons in my past position as a detailer nor in my current position as a Service Technician.

Pros

Very well structured, and plenty of support. Lots of team work and returning customers who values long term employees.

Cons

Maybe a little overkill with middle management that maybe cuts into the bottom line some. Long hours and Saturday rotation with no flexibility for customer facing employees.

Pros

Flexible schedule for appointments and family things. Training sponsorships for young technicians. Employee discount.

Cons

R&S has no empathy for people with disabilities or ones who are facing hardship. If you miss work, you will be replaced and let go with a false promise that you can "reconnect" in the future. Of course, that never happens. They simply do not care about their employees. Keeping the dealership open and satisfying customers comes first over employees. There's a reason why there's frequent turnover at R&S. Poor managment and low pay/average benefits. Not a bad place to work but by no means a good place to work. There's alot better out there.
