Pros

Fairly sharp crowd of individuals genuinely interested in doing the right thing. Biggest Pros also tend to be biggest cons. Riot is a company big on alignment, and several leaders in the company believe the true accountability mechanism is self-accountability. As a result, a lot of energy is invested in making sure the WHY of any action is understood. Unfortunately, it means little forward progress is visible until a critical mass in this area is accrued.

Cons

It's the games industry. While Riot compensates competitively, it is not going to keep up with the craziness that is occurring in the Silicon Valley. Located in West LA means a Rioter chooses either to accept a smaller place to live or have a longer commute. These are first world problems, and ideally candidates are cognizant of this trade off as they join Riot.

Pros

Great benefits, pays well, can work on some very interesting problems.

Cons

Work hours are from 10-7 and hardly anyone actually works that, so stuff can move at a snail pace. Getting help from central teams can be painful, especially if they're way off hours. Some of the culture can get a bit overwhelming too and you can end up feeling pretty lonely if you don't drink the koolaid.
