Pros

Interesting, meaningful work. Some managers are amazing and really care.

Cons

Some managers don't wish to help their employees grow, they instead pettily feel threatened by their success. They will give impossible tasks and create a set-up-to-fail syndrome dynamic. Also, the business is reliant on government contracts, which is fine, but the yearly budget results in complete restructuring of teams, so your flow is interrupted and you may even be moved into a new role. Lastly, low pay and "annual" reviews are every 18 months at best.

Pros

good flexibility, or there was, many things up in the air now

Cons

disconnect between on-site contractors and offices/management. most meetings and "one of the few" events focused on main office locations and schedules, often with seemingly little consideration for those remote or on-site.
